OTTERtorium

A monochrome striped stage alive with music, mischief and interactive intrigue.

OTTERtorium offers custom made black and white striped decor, which envelops the stage and surrounding area.

The OTTERtorium is hosted by the black and white OTTER's of OTTOPIA, who animate the venue offering podium dancing and circus acts as well as OTTER's weaving and wandering through the venue to entice visitors and encourage playful adventures.

The stage has been designed to encourage exploration, participation and engagement for the audience as well as being a truly unique setting for live performances and DJ's.

The stage has two different types of interactive visuals, which are audience controlled and add an unique collaborative dynamic between the audience and the performers.

The first is situated within the crowd itself, Naztek. You are invited to play the role of VJ, by dancing with your hands! By combining computer-based audio-reactive effects with your physical interpretation of the music, a kaleidoscopic visualisation is achieved. You can mix and match from eight different effects, and see the result projected on a large screen.

The other interactive stage element is a Kinect driven interactive projection that mimics the dancers and bands movement on stage. A secondary audience driven control panel then effects the visual output adding waves of colour and rotating the projected dancer within 3D space.

Not only does the stage host live stripey OTTERs, interactive visuals, amazing bands and DJ's, we also love to work with unique leftfield and fringe theatre and musical acts who bring a new, bizarre, extraordinary twist to the antics that are already happening all around the audience. We're not afraid, nay! we EMBRACE the unusual, CHAMPION the strange and we'll always endeavor to challenge and intrigue our audiences with delights they've never seen before.
